Is Health Insurance as a must-have? Hillary Clinton thinks so

One of the biggest problems with the current state of the health insurance industry is that many people think that they do not need coverage. In other words, they know that it is not required by law, so in turn they simply avoid purchasing. While this may sound like a good idea, it is far from that. The bottom line is that everybody needs to think of health insurance as a must-have instead of something that is more or less a “luxury item.” Or at least Hillary Clinton thinks so.

This problem is one that is spurring debates all over the country by the current Presidential hopefuls. For instance, Clinton is a democratic frontrunner at this time. She feels that it is essential for the United States to make health insurance mandatory. In other words, if you are a US resident you will be forced to purchase coverage in one way or the next.

Of course, other candidates such as Barack Obama are against this. He feels that everybody should have health insurance, but that millions do not have coverage because they cannot afford it. So instead of making coverage mandatory for all Americans, he feels that it would be better to cut the cost instead.

What side of this debate are you on? If you think that health insurance should be mandatory, it is safe to say that Clinton or one of the other candidates with similar thinking will be your choice. Of course, there are some people who have health insurance and would much rather see Obama’s plan put into effect.

There is only one thing that is for sure right now: the next President is going to be responsible for straightening out the health insurance crisis that millions of Americans are dealing with. If they are unsuccessful, it will be at least another four years of the same problems. And at this point, more of the same would not bode well for the United States as a country.
